Getting rid of the meat industry would get rid of 3 of these.

Good points Ken. I was refering to the world's human problems. My bad, I didn't make that clear. However, I do know of some dogs and cats that DO live in poverty either through the poverty of their owners or their owners' apathy. These pets may not realize they are living in poverty, but I'm sure they feel the misery.

On a side not, haven't seen that first photo since my Writing 101 class.  I am also, for whatever reason, reminded of a joke:Why do shepherds put sheeps on the edge of cliffs? So the sheep push back....

Humans can live in poverty since they have a monetary system upon which wealth and status is based.  I don't believe animals have such beliefs or system, but some of them go hungry, some of them fight amongst themselves, and many of them carry diseases.
