I vote teachers...they are the ones who mold the minds of our future world leaders. Teachers have to put up with way too much crap for so little pay. They have to be loving what they are doing because it certainly isn't for the pay.
Teachers screw themselves... I have friends who are teachers, and although they moan about the low pay, they also moan about the competition. There are literally hundreds of prospective teachers (with the education and certifications they need) for every teaching position. The economic laws of supply and demand make it impossible for teachers to get good salaries.
This quote from Karl Rove seems to be relevant: “As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing”
The Republicans only want education for the wealthy, the first place they cut is public education and all the world's problems could go away if all children got a really good education.
You know who I'm voting for! Did you hear how many teachers got fired in California due to the huge budget cuts that Mr. Stupid Swarchenneger (however you spell it) made? Classes will be twice as full and students will not be taught the same. And yet Mr. Bush wants to pay teachers based on their students' academic success. NOT FAIR. Besides, I'm going to be a teacher next year. :)
I admire you for becoming a teacher. That's something I know I can't do.

Lots of waitresses do really well, counting tips, though. I don't think I ever tip less than $5, and that's one table for one hour.

You said only one, and waitresses make $2.90 per hour plus tips.

the world would spin off of it's axis without waitresses
I made the poll and I still haven't decided yet. :-)
A really tough choice. All of these people provide a much-needed service, and they all work hard. It took me a long time to make up my mind.
