This coming Tuesday is National "be kind , wind" day. Nowadays so many clocks and watches use batteries or house hold current, which contributes to the enormous amount of unrecoverable green house damaging energy waste. So Tuesday is the day for all of us to do our part.
On Tuesday, everyone unplug your vcr's, coffee makers and any wall mounted clock.(or take the batteries out) and feel good if you have a good a old cookoo clock or grand fathers clock which only need the power god gave you to lift up the little weights.
Find the fuse in your car that allows power to be diverted to your cars clock and remove it.(many people believe that this is "free" electricity, since the car running charges the battery.WRONG! Every bit of elictricity is generated, using more gasoline, there is no free lunch. (funny how there are bills pending to mandate the use of headlights at all times by the very same sponsers of "be kind, wind"day)
I'm sure we all have an old wind up rolex in the closet somewhere, take it out Tuesday, at the same time take the batteries out of your old cole fired watch, and see for yourself how good it feels to lend old Ma Earth a hand. (I know that watch/clock batteries are an enviromental hazard too, so if you don't know a green way to dispose of them, send them to me at: 626 kings Highway East, Atlantic Highlands New Jersey, 07724 ((It will require a one time energy waste, but save future generations)), I will see to it that they are disposed of in as an earth friendly fashion as possably).
So get a head start! Tuesday will be here before you know it Let's get kind, lets wind!
haha, i think that was just you
Didn't we just have an hour of darkness last week?
I don't have a clock in the truck, I do not wear a watch. Cell phone is battery so I'm green as can be.
This is a joke right? "Find the fuse in your car that allows power to be diverted to your cars clock and remove it." How many people are really going to do that?
