Depends on the business, to some extent, but most of the time, I want to be left alone to browse.
I always get the "stalker saleslady" the one that wont stop asking you if you need help and that thinks she knows what you want. All I want is to get away from my teenagers for an hour and enjoy the silence in my head. Bah humbug.
