most of you are being extremely ignorant and rude. the possesion of a vagina does not make him a woman. if genitals defined gender, hermaphrodites would fall under both gender roles, and intersex people would often be neither. the only organs with a gender are the brain and the heart.how did you know you were your gender? not because of what you had in your pants, because you realized it before you understood the differences. you just knew. the same goes for thomas beattie. he knew he was a man his whole life, and he was lucky enough to still be able to give birth. i praise whatever god you believe in for giving him to us. he is truly a godsend and an entrance for transgender people, like myself, into this society we've so long been denied from.  this is the land of the free. please, reserve your opinions until you've heard others, from people who have been in that position, and even then, realize that no matter what your opinion is, you cannot stop thomas beattie from being the man he is.

Thank you!!!  It is so refreshing to hear a man say that.  I totally agree.

It not about being Gay, its your choice to be gay even if i don't believe it is right, but its your choice, it about when does it because wrong to do you cross the line, chaing sex is not right, since when can you feel your not in the right body, when you didn't even have that choice to begin with so how do you then think you wqere born wrong, who got it wrong?  Now since when do you change sex to be male and still retain the right to have a baby, is that right should this be allowed, and by being on a talk show he/she is getting attention and money effectly say yes this is right when no it is not right

exactly people are forgetting that this dude in technically a woman because what she was born is still with hers, she changed with help of Doctors so it is so not shocking that she yes she can have a baby what shocking is why change to be a dude because men by design can not have babies so along with changing to be a man your right to be pregnant is gone, so what are they a gay couple or a straight coupld she/ he is still a she with no breast, hairy legs beard and muslces cause that deep voice has not arrived

Guess what everyone? The Lord intended for women to have babies and this is a story about a WOMAN living as a man having a baby. Its a publicity stunt. They are making money off of our intrigue. Did anyone watch Oprah? The couple was standing in their back yard trying to speak quietly about it but they are filming footage for the OPRAH SHOW. They are in People magazine guys! Folks keep calling her a pregnant man....SHE'S A WOMAN!!!!! The Lord made her a woman and sees her as a woman, If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck..,,,IT'S A DUCK!!

The stink has nothing to do with "his/her" rights... the stink is all about everybody being so "amazed" at this supposed "miracle".... There's no miracle here.  The body is biologically female...and the biological female body got pregnant.  End of story....all the other crap...is just that....crap.....It's just a bunch of sick, twisted crap.  I don't care what this guy/girl, or anybody else with "gender issues" wants to do with their life.. The only issue I have with it, is that "they" are trying to shove it down the rest of our throats that it's norma!!   Do "they" have rights?  Sure they do!   Do I have to swallow the crap that's it's all just normal!  Hell no I don't!

I don't know why folks are getting their shorts in a knot or panties in a twist about this. Who cares what he wants to do to his body? Who cares if he wants to be called male? Why all the rightious indignation? It reminds me of the people that are threatened by gay marriage and think it would "undermine the sanctity of marriage". Does it threaten your manhood if he wants to be called male? It certainly doesn't affect mine.

Regardless of whether he identifies as being "male" or "female", what he wants to do with his body is his own right as a human being.  Period.  I don't know why y'all are getting your noses out of joint over this.

I think that as society still has some problems with the homosexual community (as i myself am gay), i thnik that science is ready for it, but in the sense of peoples beliefs, it is not ready, i myself go out at weekends to clubs where gay, bi,,lesbain, transgender humans go to feel themselves and enjoy the freedom, which trangenders dont get in society.  just because it is not part of your culture doesnt mean its weird. its the person showing the world how they feel, in the sense of their sexuality, gender, personality etc. i do not have a problem with thomas beattie, i wish him all the luck. its his life, his body. he should be able to chose how he goes about expressing his views, his idea of normality, even  if it is different to others.Angela

But since they choose to keep their feminine bits and pieces below the belt, are they really a guy?  I don't believe so
