I don't think body modifications should be taken lightly.  Any decent piercer won't pierce you if you're under 18 anyway (with the exception of ear lobes at 16 with permission from legal guardian).

Pierces are cool when you're a kid.  I recently removed my nipple ring, because at 34, I don't think it's very cool anymore.  After 13 years of wearing it, I have this ingrained reaction... I flinch whenever anyone touches me on my chest.

I detest belly butten rings, I know they're all it and a slice of balogna, so whatever floats your boat and all. I dont have a daughter either, but I'm thinking sixteen ish seems reasonable.
