The debate rages, ipod versus radio versus CD versus live performance. Burning copies to resell is piracy. Copying your own store bought CDs to your PC and ipod is not in my opinion. Tell Apple, Sony, et al to decide and let us know where the line is to be drawn.
The music industry is dying. they don't care about their artists just about how much money it takes to line their pockets. RIAA is pure unadulterated evil.
Always an ethically complicated question. On one hand, intellectual property should be protected to a certain extent. On the other hand, anything culturally relevent should be available to the public domain, after a reasonable period of time. I guess what clinches it for me is that media companies bombard us with material that we somehow don't have a right to enjoy at our pace.
