Smoking has been banned in most public places in much of the country, and in bars and restaurants in cities such as New York. This was done with the intention of protecting people from harmful second hand smoke.
I've never understood why someone would think its good/cool/okay to put a paper cilinder filled with herbs in your mouth and light it on fire. I think the whole cigarette thing its mostly a hollywood created fashion *shrugs*
