A Swiss organization offers legal suicide assistance

Swiss organization Dignitas helps people put an end to their lives. Lately, the organization started using helium filled plastic bags as a way to suicide, preferring that to the older way of applying a dose of liquid breathing suppressor and causes instant, painless death. The problem with the breathing suppressor was that it had to be given with a doctor prescription, and Dignitas needed to offer an option for people who were refused the treatment by swiss doctors.

Suicide assistance isn't considered an offense in Switzerland, as long as the assistance isn't made for profit. The Dignitas people video tape each suicide, and notify authorities about it. People all over the world come to Switzerland, to commit suicide with Dignitas.

I don't advise people doing it by any means if they have problems, but people are the pilots of their own jets, y'know.

It is sin versus law the old Christian battle rages on.

Like in Children of Men, I think suicide will eventually become socially acceptable.
