What is Balut?
A Balut is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled alive and eaten just like a hard boild egg. Yummy! Balut is what the Filipinos call it. Vietnamese people eat it too, often garnishing each bite with a mint of basil leaf. They are called Trung vit lon in Vietnamese.It's best on a hot summer day with beer or a coke. You haven't lived till you chomped on a Balut.

If you like hard boiled eggs, you would like properly cooked balut. Its delicious. I don't really see how it is cruel. Why is that even a choice?
