Politicass. I agree in part with what you are saying. But don't you think Americans in general depend on the 'service industry' a little too much - to the extent that many of us are handicapped without their services? If you go to many other countries, buying homes is either brand new (straight from the builder) or off the owner. There is no realtor involved at all. I think all the realtor does is give the buyer options of homes to pick from, hands the buyer forms to sign (which designate his commission obviously along with other minor detail) and they go from there. But the realtor is really not important. It is like a car dealer, as soon as u land in the lot, they push stuff at you and harrass you to sign (so they get their commission). They are just excuses for a job. That is only my opinion.
I agree - but who has time to learn the ins and outs of this profession? I'd rather pay someone to do it for me and concentrate on my own specialty which people pay me to do...
Realtors get a big chunk of the transaction. Most of what they are doing can be done by the buyer himself. It is just like doing taxes... If we knew (learned all the ins and outs), we could maximize our own refunds... There's your answer Estatemerchant!
Good luck getting a CMA that has any accuracy without a realtor people! Love the lack of knowledge here!
