Should Wikipedia remove the controversial pictures of Muhammad from the site?

The images you see here were taken from the Wikipedia entry for "Muhammad". They are 14, 15, and 16 century depiction of the prophet, founder of the Islam, and stand in the midst of the biggest controversy Wikipedia has ever known:

Islam prohibits any representation of Muhammad. And Muslims around the world are protesting against Wikipedia's decision to keep the pictures - uploaded by the site's editors - online. As of today, over 180,000 people have joined an online protest against the site, demanding the images be taken down. Wikipedia refuses.

Here's the link to the original Muhammad entry.

I do not speak for all muslims, but personally I would respect any other religion and there beleifs, though i may not agree with them. there is a way to coexist even amongst those who differ, an I hope to try and support that. All we ask in return is that, even if you do not respect us, at least do not disrespect us.

Muslims, the great suppressors of all other faiths. They really need to get over themselves. If Wiki acquiesces to the Muslim demands they are nothing but weak, gutless, scared, politically correct idiots. Suck it up Muslims

These champions of  freedom of expression can not dare to utter a single word against  the false propaganda of holocast, otherwise they will be punished for ten years jail.

Freedom of culture does not mean to hurt others religious feelings. We muslims respect Jesus christ and other prophets and want others to respect our prophet too.
