What is the key reason for college/high school killing sprees in North America?

Steve Kazmierczak, 27, was identified as the man who walked into a Northern Illinois University classroom and opened fire, killing 5 and injuring 16 students then taking his own life. His murderous act joins those of Virginia Tech's Seung-Hui Cho who killed 32 people last year, A 19-year-old gunman who killed eight people and then himself Wednesday at a Mall in Omaha, and many others.

What would you say was the key reason for the latest series of college/high school killing sprees in North America?

Feeling sorry for himself, like a lot of young people do these days.

None of the above.  He was a mentally deranged freak that would have done the same thing in any time period.
