The book "Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography", due to be published on January 15, 2008, introduces some juicy controversial assertions about Tom Cruis. Here are some of them:
- Katie Holmes had to "audition" for the status of Cruise's girlfriend, and won the part over actresses including Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson and Kate Bosworth
- Morton compares Suri to the Devil's child in the film Rosemary's Baby. He claims some "fanatical" Scientologists believed Suri Cruise was actually the result of a sperm donation by Scientology's dead founder, L. Ron Hubbard
- Katie Holmes joined Scientology in June 2006, and agreed that "if she or any of her children were ever to suffer mental or terminal illness, they must turn only to Scientology's treatments
- Nicole Kidman's lawyer had advised her not to publicly discuss Scientology or to speak out against it, even though she "hated" Scientology when Cruise left her in 2000
The book has been criticized by attorneys for both Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology.
