I agree about Katharine putting more heart into her songs than Carrie. Katharine did very little to change the anthem, and the few short runs only added to it rather than taking anything from it. Kudos to Kat!
Carrie Underwood sings the National Anthem the way it should be sung - very simple and traditional. Just a beautiful and powerful voice making this difficult song seem easy. Sylizing this song as McPhee did ruins it for me.
