Giuliani pays firefighter for supporting him
It's no big secret that New York firefighters aren't big on former mayor Rudy Giuliani. The political candidate who enjots presenting himself as the hero of 9/11, is mostly remembered by FDNY as the person responsible for a contract that left firefighters without a raise for two years, and who reduced the number of men allowed to search for bodies in ground zero. According to a recent story by Sam Stein, Giuliani is so unpopular with New York firefighters, that he had to pay the one firefighter who supports him:
"John R. Orlando, who serves with Engine 216 in Brooklyn, New York, has been cited prominently as a Giuliani supporter. Last June, in a New York Times article detailing the mixed reviews Giuliani has among the city's 11,000-membered firefighting force, Orlando said he regularly saw Giuliani at fires despite suggestions otherwise."
