I've read that in dire circumstances a nuclear strike can be seen as a last resort when fighting for something just, when your losing so bad that going nuclear is the only why to stay just. Losing a just war is almost considerd like a moral crime--if youre gonna fight for something just it is imparative that you win. But with the catastrofic numbers the a nuclear strike imposes I don't think theres anything just about it.
