Why do some people don't like anime?

There is so much you can do with an animated character that you can't do on a live action film. If you like roleplaying games most of the stories are anime based. In matter of a fact most video games started from an anime. Some of the action scenes from movies were anime based. There is so much more you can do on an anime than live action. I am curious on other opinions. It will help me help advertise anime more if I know why some people don't like it.

A friend of mine gets critsized a lot because his friends think its a waste of time for a 20 year to watch childish cartoon.  The thing that I we like is for people to appreciate anime the same way I do, to feel that passion but then again we're all different, can't blame them for being the way they are.  Anime is good for you!

'Why do some people not like anime?' - Think that some people just don't want to bother watching anime because they think it's a childish hobby and that it won't appeal to them so they won't even give it a chance.  It's like the stigma behind games, which is a shame people think there are better things our there then watching cartoons but what they don't realize is what missing out on.
