NYPD just invested almost $1 million on... new Typewriters

The New York Police department is widely known as one of the richest, police forces in the world. fighting crime and terror in a city that had its share of both, police from all over the world comes to New York to learn from NYPD. So reading that New York just invested close to one million dollars on thousands of new typewriters for its police force filled me with shock. Not only that they're using typewriters instead of computers, but also: they obviously aren't planning to switch to computers any time soon.
