Should the US government end the DADT rule in the military (Don't Ask Don't Tell) and allow gay people to serve openly ?

Several years ago, the Don't Ask, Don't Tell rule was put into place in the military, which requires gay people serving to not be open about their sexuality.  There has been much controversy about this - after all, gay people have been serving in the military for hundreds of years without issues, so why not allow them to be who they are?

Whether they are gay or not shouldn't decide about the military in my opinion the gay people die the same just like everyone else so they should have a chance to enter the military if they want to in order to fight for our country it is their country too
