What about those of us that will get up in the middle of the night when an email or text message comes in and our computer dings, Just to see if it is crucial and what to do about it. I guess that makes me a full blown emailaholic.
There IS another category. The "have to email" at the day job and then the "texters" in between. If you want to reach me - text. I don't email or call. :)
I don't fit the pigeon holes of a 9-5 office worker. Before & after work I email my friends, but not compulsively - every few days or so. I can't e-mail real people @ work, only supervisors. I don't have or want a smart-phone unless someone else would pay the broadband access fees...
any study which forces you to choose between one of two categories when you may fall into neither (aka those of us who rarely email at all, going months at a time without sending a single email) is absurd
I check my emails whenever I can. If I'm bored at work I'll check them if I have access to the internet, but sometimes I'm not working. When I'm at home I'm checking email off and on. I don't miss a single email and thats the way its gotta be. If its black it can't be that way. I don't like them to build up cause then its too hard to respond to them and go to the websites to check out the articles. If you're thinking I'm an email junkie then you'd be correct.
I volunteer at a hospital in an office! When I can, I email! Can't just let those unanswered emails just sit there! I might miss something! I don't have a computer at home, so lots of times stay late, just to read and answer emails! Especially now that I am on Facebook! 148 contacts in 7 days! Awsome!
My sister, Micha, who lives in Singapore, is sooo the 9 to 5'er. You'd think I was asking her to grab a shovel and dig deep holes in her back yard when asking her to email me when she's home at night. I look at emailing as just another form to communicate (like talking). Do the 9 to 5'ers stop talking, too, once they leave the work place? I just dont get "them". Make the world a more beautiful place and become a 24/7 kind of emailer, I say.
Gosh, I don't fit EITHER category!!!! I can't email at work (manual labor-no computers) and I don't stay home 24/7/366 (Leap Yr). Does this mean I'm DEAD?????????????
now texting is a different story, I'm totally addicted to that....
Which group does I belong if I did not check my email daily?

Me neither - I don't fit into either catergory - or maybe I fit into both... either way, the study is wrong.
None?
