Do you really believe Adam Lambert was on the bottom three of American Idol last week?

Last week American Idol surprised us all by putting Adam Lambert in the bottom three of the top 5. He wasn't even the first one safe out of the bottom three - he was second, only to Matt Giraud who got eliminated that week. Many people I know who watch American Idol feel there's absolutely no way the people at home didn't vote for Adam Lambert, who's definitely standing out every week as the contestant with most chances of winning this season's idol. So what gives? Was the production trying to make us feel like the competition is on?
