Rumor: Apple to buy Twitter for $700 million. How do you see this deal?

Techcrunch says a reliable source tipped them about a secret Apple Twitter negotiation. Apple apparently is interested in buying Twitter, and the sum currently on the table is $700 million. This is a surprising piece of news considering Google tried to buy Twitter a while ago and got shut down by the Twitter founders who still claim they want to see the company to the end.

If it goes through, big win for Apple. They'll control the new hot internet service, and at a very reasonable price.

$700m for Twitter? I thought the second bubble already burst. Overpriced, overhyped, no reason to pay so much.

Why would Apple want Twitter? What will they do with it? Big mistake on the part of the two companies.

Twitter is losing money is the deal goes through. Comapred with Facebook current price estimate of $2bn, $700m seems low. Too low.

It wont go through. Twitter turned down Facebook's offer and I think they were offered more
