How can we Hear Ourselves Think when our Ears are on the Outside of our Heads?
Obviously people need to hear themselves think.
If you've ever watched someone driving, when they need to think about directions, they turn the radio down. Why?

they turn the radio down because it is a distraction and they loose focus.
Although I will admit to some occassional auditory hallucinations... usually the doorbell ringing.
