Do The People's Choice Awards matter?


The 35th annual People's Choice Awards air tonight on CBS with Queen Latifah hosting.  The lightweight and culturally low-brow awards show has categories like "Favorite Movie" (nominees are "The Dark Knight," "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and "Iron Man"), Favorite Funny Star and Favorite Game Show.  The awards are (allegedly) chosen by ordinary people, voting now done online.  Complete list of nominees here.
