Why would Madonna want people to think Guy got more of her money?

Madonna's spokesperson said on Monday that the superstar had paid her now ex-husband Guy Ritchie between $76 million and $92 million as part of their divorce settlement. 

Ritchie was reportedly furious that the amount her people reported was too high.  Stories say Ritchie then "pressured" Madonna to retract the statement.  "The former couple then put out a joint statement on Wednesday insisting the earlier press release was 'misleading and inaccurate' and was 'wrongly issued,'" reports IMDB, adding that "Madonna's aides had broken an agreement to keep the financial settlement private."
