A surprise today with the Golden Globe nominations: MILK, the biopic of Harvey Milk, the first openly-gay elected politician in American history, was snubbed for expected nominations for picture, supporting actor (Josh Brolin), director (Gus Van Sant) and screenwriter (Dustin Lance Black).
I've seen the film and it's excellent -- and not only did Penn and Brolin just win the New York Film Critics Circle awards for their performances, the movie won as well.
