Not only that, but keeping information in one's head allows for a kind of "cross-pollination" between fields of study, making innovation possible.

There are wonderful advantages to technology and it can be used to stimulate and challenge our minds but we still need to press beyond by reading and studying books. Memorization is valueable to memory and mental stimulation.
