Roosevelt was doing the same over the radio. This is not so much a comment on Obama as a comment on lack of action by Bush. That Bush never did anything, despite how big Youtube has become while he was in office, says more about HIS inaction than Obama's innovation. Youtube is FULL of people who are making their own weekly statements to the nation. I think Obama should have started doing it the moment he started his candidacy.-And I think that he should not disable comments, but have some way of screening them, so both positive and negative comments can go up, but the crazies can be kept at bay. Of course, monitoring this would be a full time position for a team of people.
This reminded me of Roosevelt, too. It's kind of like the fireside chats.

AND I hope they disable comments. Coincidentally, I was just about to poll about YouTube when I saw this.
Good way to keep in touch - what a change from bush!!
