I have voted Democrat for 30 years, and they were all white, now this is the first time their is a black man, and ya'll have a problem, so therefore like most democrats Obama got the vote, not just because he is black.
There have been other US presidents with foreign born parents, but not many. The last candidate with foreign born parents was Dukakis. You could not say he was a Greek.
Normally it never does. But in this case...I am an African American male from Georgia who could not wait to leave the state. At 45 I have seen a lot of racism. I have seen it's effects first hand on friends and family in the south. I have listened to my late parent's stories of horror and pain and victories. I have heard the stories of my sister's marches and arrests with Dr. Martin Luther King. My God, I never thought that in my lifetime I would be able to vote for a black person as a real potential presidential candidate. When I walked into the voting booth, I could not move for quite a few minutes, since I was unable to stop weeping like a baby at the joy of this moment. If Obama were white I would have still voted for him because he seems the better overall choice, but this historical moment? Damn.
Well strictly Barak Hussein Obama is as white as John McCain because he is an American through his mother and his grandparents lineage. If he took up his Father's lineage he would be a Kenyan not an American.
