Would McCain be a bit more bearable if Palin weren't in the picture?

Lets say, GOD FORBID, Barack lost the election.  Could McCain as president be so much worse because of the Palin factor, which is she could potentially become our next President?

He might be a little more CREDIBLE, but for now he's INcredible in picking her.

Well, it worked for some.  Palin is the only thing that makes McCain tolerable.  lol  Before Palin, it was more like 'Don't bother to vote at all'.  When I first heard she was chosen, I said to my husband, 'Well, he's either won or slit his own throat.'  Sure enough....

I kind of feel sorry for him, he was monstered by Bush's operatives in 2000, which cost him the primary. He has had Palin foisted on him, and they clearly do not REALLY like each other (he wanted Lieberman). The reason why they had him choose Palin was so the Far Right Christians could have somebody who was acceptable to them on the ticket (i.e. biblical creationist, five children, popular in Alaska because she gave them a bunch of cash out of oil money, loves to shoot, the folksy dumbed down saccharinesweet way she talks to people, the aggressive beautyqueen/soccermom) The only reason McCain was picked was because the Far Right was so unpopular because of, you know, the war, the economic collapse, the neglect, destruction and subsequent neglect of New Orleans, the blame for all of which they like to foist on others, but are all felt to be the Republicans' fault.-McCain was picked because he was the only popular Republican they had that was centrist enough. The Far Right feels he is too liberal. The cry before Palin was selected was "hold your nose and vote McCain".

Sarah can't be President. I don't think anybody in Washington would want that to happen.

McCain's reckless choice of Palin ruined any good will I had toward him.
