Hollywood legend Tony Curtis is complaining that his life and career were not as great as he wanted. The star of Hollywood classics like "Some Like It Hot" and "The Defiant Ones" has been saying Hollywood bosses showed favoritism and gave the better roles to Marlon Brando and Paul Newman, leaving him to do lightweight fare.
He has also lashed out at the actors' union for not taking him seriously as an actor. Curtis told USA Today: "I just wanted to be treated like anybody else. There was a lot of opposition to me during the early years of movies. It had an effect on me."
Curtis has a memoir, "American Prince," out now.
I loved him as an actor. He is or was great in his own way. He just wasn't quite as good as Brando and Neuman. Maybe he shouldn't have acted so well in the Boston Strangler. It sure frightened me.
