Eating disorders are horrible diseases and deserve attention. Compulsive and binge eating are the most common and probably misunderstood. Most of the time it takes more than will power for a person to stop and people need help to do so. In addition, obesity can have many causes -- eating disorders, hormonal disorders, medication induced, etc... It is unfair to assume that an obsese person is just "lazy" or "gluttenous." It is also unfair to be prejudice against fat people. It seems to be one area where we as a society think it's okay to be mean and judging of people who often are trying their best. It is never okay to judge another based on looks or physical characteristics. You do not know what it is like to walk in their shoes.
Certainly I think his head must have been an awful place to be in but he was a victim of his own choices. Same for drug or alcohol addiction. I am the child of a self destructive alcoholic. Every morning he wakes up and chooses to drink again for which, due to his advanced liver disease will soon kill him. We all make our own choices. We all have free will. Any day this man could have eaten less just like my Dad could have put down the bottle and walked in the door of a clinic instead of ruining my childhood. One can't day after day make the same bad choices (painful and hard to battle or not) and then expect to be treated like a victim. My sympathies lean towards true victims, not those who perpetuate crimes against themselves. Bad life smad life. This man wasted his life and the amount of resources that were sucked up to feed him is disgusting. On the plus side, imagine how much money can be made at the soap factory if he donated himself.
Who is FEEDING this guy? I mean, there must be somebody giving him all that food that made him so big they have to remove a wall of his house to get him out of there.
