Will you go shopping on "Black Friday?"

"Black Friday" is the unofficial name for the shopping day after Thanksgiving, when the Christmas shopping season shifts into high gear. Many retailers are reportedly already prepared for the day; WalletPop mentions price cuts on toys at both WalMart and KB Toys beginning Friday, Nov. 28.

According to Wikipedia, the term "Black Friday" has been around for decades. A quote from 1966: "'Black Friday' is the name which the Philadelphia Police Department has given to the Friday following Thanksgiving Day. It is not a term of endearment to them. 'Black Friday' ... usually brings massive traffic jams and over-crowded sidewalks as the downtown stores are mobbed from opening to closing."

In recent years "Cyber Monday" (the first Monday after Thanksgiving, when online shopping for Christmas picks up) and "Buy Nothing Day" (originally a Canadian alternative to shopping on "Black Friday" that has gained momentum in the U.S. and in the U.K.) have also appeared.

no way man, I can not deal with those lines. No way no how, even with the great shopping bargains as an enticement factor! My anxiety is way too bad for the likes of those crowds.

I will buy nothing, due to the fantastic state of the american economy.I cannot afford to buy anything. I will be happy to pay my bills & buy food.
