Thanks.....I'm the opposite about other people's work. Primarily because I don't really have anything invested in it. It makes it easier for me to point out mistakes. I really don't like going over my own stuff because I start to second guess myself.
I definitely don't see my flaws when I proofread... What does this say about my psychological state? I find it difficult to edit others' writing because if you pick every little nit then you seem nitpicky. But if you don't it's like doing them a disservice. Interesting poll.
I don't like editing other people's papers, because I don't know how much "liberty" I have to change things. When I'm doing my own stuff, I know that the author won't be offended at my edits.
sometimes easier and sometimes more difficult. It really depends on the style of the writer given. I agree however that it is nice to have someone else edit my papers errors and suggestions. It always helps me.

I know that this is true in the sign-shop. It's always better to get someone else to proofread your signs.
Any professional person, be it a writer or physician, who diagnoses himself has a fool as his client. Ego over-rides reasoning, a fatal flaw.
