Should we move conservatives to live in the new confederacy of Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida?

Ever since the 18th and 19th century conservatives have visited upon this country slavery and in the 20th and 21st century cheap labor and laissez faire economics.

Perhaps we should give conservatives a homeland of the old confederacy and let them move there. Give them Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Florida, 5 of the most backward states of the confederacy.

There, conservatives can live an experiment with no labor laws, no minimum wage, no product safety legislation, no income taxes.

Let the progressives and moderates have the 45 states of America (tm) We will welcome the progressives and moderates from those states in our new country. We can then enact universal single payer health care and other humane progressive laws.

So, should we send right wing conservatives to their new homeland of the new confederacy to wallow in their 21st century backwardness?

We can then rid ourselves of them and live in a civilized country and leave them to ruin their lives in a 21st century rollerball match.

We don't need any MORE Repugs in Florida! It's bad enough that Dick " ready-fire-aim" Cheney comes to town whenever he makes a blunder. And now Sarah Palin will be here Monday for a $100,000 a plate fund-raiser trying to convince the locals, who almost unanimously voted for Romney over McCain. But not is all bad news - Obama went from 7 points down to 8 points up vs. McCain since Palin was picked.

Yeah, it's really unclear who's replying to what.  Yeah, if you look at the timestamps, I didn't bring up Lincoln, I didn't bring up slavery, and I didn't bring up race.  All of those were Democratz.org's topics.

I thought you WERE addressing me. Sorry 'bout that. I blame the page layout.

To do so would have destroyed the economy of the South, and created far greater colossal festering problem, like the one that caused the slave revolt and resulting genocide of the whites in Haiti.

If you are talking of welfare, welfare is generally issued regardless of race. If you are talking about Affirmative Action, that is used as a "catch up" measure, because certain minorities have been downtrodden for countless generations.

What happened to the democratic governor who tried to stop the integration? Most of these people left the Democrats during the 50s, 60s,and 70s, to become Dixiecrats or Republicans or Independents.

You are reacting as if I addressed you, specifically.  I wasn't quoting numbers "to you."  Unless you're operating under multiple identities, you didn't create this poll and you didn't write the comment about Lincoln.

Sorry.  To answer you more directly:  "No, I don't think she should be confronted when using terms like 'white trash republicans.'"  Because it's pointless.  She'll just delete the comments.  Why waste your energy and your anger on her?  She can erase your effort with ease.

Not to mention, this draconian solution would work for precisely ONE GENERATION, and then you'd have to do it all over again.  And, speaking as a peace-loving, bluer-than you liberal, if you came for my conservative neighbors to try to deport them, I'd be right next to them, reloading their guns so they could shoot your ass out from under you.

So you're saying he/she shouldn't be confronted when using terms like "white trash Republicans"?
