One in five employers research job applicants on the web.
"Here's the kicker: About one third of the applicants screened online were dropped from contention after inappropriate content was found on their profile," reports Yahoo Tech. "Yikes."
The article goes on to detail ways to make your online reputation more employer-friendly -- including setting profiles (like Facebook) on private, being careful about blogging, and keeping scandalous photos off the Internet.
