Sep 30th, 2008 | Barney Frank survey

Are journalists playing favorites with some of the key political figures involved with regulatory oversight of U.S. financial markets?

LINK

Democratic House Financial Services Committee Chair, Barney Frank (D- Mass) promoted GSEs, like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, while former 'spouse' was Fannie Mae executive.

Prominent Democrats ran Fannie Mae, the same government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) that donated campaign cash to top Democrats. And one of Fannie Mae’s main defenders in the House – Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., a recipient of more than $40,000 in campaign donations from Fannie since 1989 – was once romantically involved with a Fannie Mae executive.

why don't you use that same math and apply it to obama? you wont because you will be floored by the results...obama took $126,349 in 3 years = $42,116 a year.....LINK.

From your link and as commented by European Black:.Not that this list has no value, but are democrats more culpable than repubs just because they got a 'staggering' 700.000 more?? Methinks not.Especially if there's merit to the NYT listMcCain got $169,900 + 21.550 = 191.450 (of which 21.550 from individuals)Obama got $16,000 + 126.349 = 142.349 (of which 120.349 from individuals)Shows what kinda president both would be:Mccain gets his cash mostly from the companies, but Obama? From the people.

Lets see: $40,000 over 19 years comes to the staggering amount of a little over $2000/yr - enough to warrant a congressional investigation costing millions. And i'm sure he's not the Lone Ranger in taking contributions, perhaps the cheapest buy. Maybe he can use that money to take voice lessons so he doesn't sound like Elmer Fudd when he talks?

It appears something is needed, but i don't support the idea that we the tax payers have to pay. I am not going to be in the blame game because both members of the house equally are responsible along with their counterpart 'wall Street'. However, I am for fixing the problem, I can only hope that they come to a resolution soon.
