We will have to "seed" ourselves sooner or later as this planet no longer will support human life, otherwise we will go the way of dinosaurs - extinct, just like every other animal species eventually will do. Whether it is in human form or DNA, our fate is certain, be it because of another asteroid or just plain climate, we gots to move...

I sure hope not.  In an interview three or four years ago, when asked about future forms of energy and propulsion, the NASA spokesperson admitted that they hadnt had a single person designing new space craft or propulsion systems for roughly 30 years.

We depend on NASA's ability to launch a guy in space to repair our satellites that provide us with all sorts of goodies. We can, however, survive without these things. Space exploration is a novelty, not a necessity...IMO.

I guess that I would need to have him back it up a little bit more before I could buy into such an extreme statement. It sure is exciting stuff though. Thanx for the article Johnson!
