Sep 24th, 2008 | Mccain Debate survey

Should Friday's first McCain/Obama debate still go on as planned?

Obama on McCain wanting to postpone the debate on Friday in favor of dealing with the economic crisis:

"If it turns out that we both need to be in Washington, we've both got pretty big planes.  We both can get from Washington to Mississippi pretty quickly.  I think it's very important that the American people see the people who will be in charge of these decisions in a few months."  (Source: NY mag)

Right. More like Barack "I can speak extemporaneously with or without a teleprompter and I can even write my own speechs" Obama.

What's funny is McSame debating anything! Maybe security, but i doubt he can even make a plausible case when 70% of the public wants us OUT of Iraq.  LOL

He is on Letterman tonight, and Letterman, while still being chiefly a comedy show, does sometimes ask the hard questions... I certainly hope I will be able to watch (my tv is not working properly at the moment)

I think McCain is getting cold feet. All this BS about his plans is part of a big PR stunt. Neither he or Sarah (George W.) Pallin have faced the press in a cross-questioning about his plans to lead. If he thinks sound-bites are going to convince voters, he's sadly mistaken...

The political ground is shifting under the candidates' feet due to the ongoing economic crisis. My opinion is that this is a pretty good presidential test: how well can each candidate think on his feet? How well can he perform in an emergency? Inquiring minds want to know.
