Like most foreign countries, Obama is well liked here, the mood for mccain is also popular, but Obama is by FAR more popular. Why wouldnt you want somebody who is popular overseas? If a world leader is popular overseas, there is a much better chance that foreign leaders will listen to them when it comes to foreign policy issues. If they are unpopular, then any foreign leaders will shy away from even talking to him for fear of ending like John Howard, Tony Blair et al, and being thrown bodily out of office after they did bad deals with Bush, who is now universally reviled overseas.
Of course such a poll would not really be representative would it? It would have a sample of far less than a hundred, possibly twenty or thirty, and if certain people wrote it, it would have a leading question instead of a politically neutral question (which is called push polling)
Of course, you are going by who is talking the loudest. Those who go on youtube wearing mustaches declaring victory without looking at any of the facts that contradict this. The news organisations are not in the Democrats pocket... You couldn't even find a FOX editorial, and they are most DEFINATELY not allied to the Democrats.
Popularity is based on opinion.- You don't live here, so you can't see the attitude on the streets. I'm out in public every day, I see the "popular" opinion first hand, a few Months ago it was an entirely different story and I would have admitted it looked like Obama would be the next president.... Today it's not so clear he can do it. -It's an issue of popularity... at the moment Obama is seeming to be a bit unpopular here on US soill. - Again I must say this was not an issue based on polls but first hand public experience.
Polls are the only real way to measure popularity. That is why they exist. His numbers have dropped, but they are still quite a bit ahead of McCain, and Palin is still going through a honeymoon period. Should the honeymoon period end before the election, then McCain is sunk.
So here we have one opinion piece on how Barack Obama is so popular overseas, and they say it is a bad thing, saying that somehow it is some kind of imperialism (the rest of the world colonising the US) to have a US president that is actually popular overseas. Then an analysis of how the Youtube viewing stats favor McCain. Thirdly, you have an article which says that while he is losing a little ground, Barack Obama is still ahead...And finally, you have some guy in his bedroom wearing a moustache quoting the Republican talking points. -I mean, if that is the best you can come up with, then you are pretty much dead in the water. The quality of link that you are providing is just not there. -
When I created this poll, I wasn't so much thinking of the polls but more of the general American pubic opinion. Others have made it a "polling" issue, so OK, Obama has dropped in his numbers, although now a close race by poll standards, the loss in numbers shows a loss in popularity.
Barack Hussein Obama only leads in the great liberal state of New York by about 5 points, to me that would say you'd have to be a pretty unpopular democratic candidate to have a race that close in a state so well known for being so liberal.
Alright, let's get real here. Each individual poll is like a snapshot of the current trends. Here's an informative graph that shows the patterns over time. Looks like a close race. Currently Obama is ahead and trending upward. I sure don't see any "epic loss in popularity."
Then lets come up with a neutral poll on this.

If the goal is to keep Americans safer, then having international allies is a good idea.
OK, for those who don't think Obama is loosing popularity; lets put it to a poll right here on polls boutique and see what the outcome will be.
I don't want someone in the White House who is popular overseas. Tell me, Phil, how is Obama received in Australia?
it is late here in Melbourne and I should be going to bed.
I'm sure if you went to FOX you could find one.

It’s tough to find a main stream media piece stating obama's loss in popularity as they all are in bed with the Democratic Party.
