Karl Rove said, "As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing." What do you think he meant?

What such a quote shows that (A) Rove knows there is an antielitist sentiment out there, and (B) he knows how to deflect antielitist sentiment away from the true elite (the super rich) and towards the intellectual elite.

Actually, Potemkin was Catherine the Great's paramour, who erected picturesque sham villages ahead of Royal visits, just ahead of time, and pulled them down just after, to be transported somewhere else. The effect is the same, to fool people that things are doing well.

Rove is the ultimate spin-doctor and VERY clever at manipulating people. This is however not the same as intelligence, a trait he likes to exploit. He can take an inept ex-drunk and make him Prez and the mob mentality follow him like the Pied Piper. He reminds me of the designer of Potemkin, a sham town erected to represent peace and tranquility to the duped media. With FOX news as his mouthpiece, he has a cult following mirroring Machiavelli's The Prince. He convinced the Evangelical voters bush was a born again-Christian who strayed from the flock and now returned to lead the people to prosperity. Thank God he disallowed bush to speak to an audience without soldiers as his background - heaven forbid they find out what a complete zero he really was. No wonder bush bought 2,000,000 acres in South America...

Thank you for sharing your views and your experiences. I hope you don't mind, but I took your interpretation and made a fifth vote option out of it. You'll notice that I am not screaming, nor foaming at the mouth. If you want to hear that sort of thing, turn on Rush. If you want to hear a much more rational voice, turn on Thom Hartmann.-By the way, I also live in a red state, and although I am not part of any "mainstream media," and I hold nothing higher than a high school diploma, my political leanings are very much to the left. You really can't assume too much.

I believe this is an example of what we rubes in fly over country (you know, the people who watch the wrong programs, listen to the wrong people on the radio, and get the wrong ideas, but basically we're good people, just ask Joe Biden) refer to as "sarcasm".  It tends to go right over the heads of those on the left, those in the mainstream media, and those in academia, usually causing them to foam at the mouth and scream things like: "racism", "sexism", or "facist", then go back to bashing Bushchimphitlersatan and complaining about the politics of personal destruction.  I have a B.S., M.A., and M.M.A.S and I did vote for Kathleen Sebelius, so maybe I recieved too much of a good thing, but I haven't voted for a Democrat for President ever.
