By definition, half of all Americans are below average. And I'm not too impressed by the "average" person, either. I would probably argue that most Americans are, in fact, dumb. However, I don't think it's a uniquely American phenomenon. I think the rest of the world is pretty dumb, too.
He didn't take an oath on the Koran. Here's the info from Snopes about that. I get the forwarded-a-million-times rightwing e-mail at work that spreads these rumors. Obama sure changes a lot according to these! First he's a member of a radical Christian group, then he's a Muslim... the latest ones assert that he's actually Jewish! No joke; these things just get weirder and weirder. According to this latest rumor, Obama dropped some letters from his name to make the name appear less Jewish; it used to be Obamann, or something like that. In a way, I can't blame the Right for spreading unsubstantiated rumors and all. What else do they have?
Representative Ellison was the first, and so far the only, Muslim to be elected to the House OR the Senate. That would make Obama not a Muslim.-Obama made his oath of office on a bible, not a Koran.
That is a big problem with religious radicals... They do whatever they want, because they believe that God is on their side, that they will ultimately be rewarded after death, no matter they did.
even if he was, which i do not think he is, he would be allowed to lie to and deceive us infidels.....look at the hijacker that lived his life like normal....giving no indication he was a radical....that is until the day he boarded that plane....
I brought it up because in previous discussions, others have been mentioning that they believed he is muslim. Personally, I think it is complete hooey, calculated to try to destroy Obama's reputation, and I wanted to find out how many people believed this.
What about those secret organizations that so many of washingtons important figures belong ? Is he a member of any of those ? Are those good things or bad ? I agree with alot of what Philgtaylor says. That is really a ridiculous issue for people to wonder about. No offense Philgtaylor, it was interesting for you to bring it up. This is being conducted by a bunch of lying assholes. What a disgrace. Obama is more Christian than I am and I am a former Evangelical minister. What is really sick about you is your opinion of American People. We are not as dumb as you think - only that small group of Hillary followers who had limited educations and lay on the ground like human guppies waiting for some mother type to fill them up with comfort food. Why do all these people think he is a secret muslim? He eats during daylight hours in Ramadan. He does not disappear five times a day at the appointed hour to pray, he does not go to a mosque every friday, he drinks (in moderation)... I mean, does he have to PROVE it by eating a side of bacon at midday during Ramadan while facing away from Mecca?-Islam is such a strict way of life, that you can't simply believe in it, you have to follow all these rules, no eating pork of any kind, no alcohol, pray five times a day, fast during daylight hours in Ramadan, veils for the women, the Koran is full of such laws. If you know what you are looking for, it is very easy to tell who is not a muslim, who really does not believe. It is much harder to find somebody who pretends to believe in a certain religious faith and does not.

I agree... The majority of Americans are NOT dumb... But it is the dumb ones you have to watch out for.
