Google just announced Google Chrome, a Google browser, meant to replace IE and Firefox. Google's PR for the Chrome was a comic book illustrated by Scott McCloud, sent to main tech bloggers. You can read the entire comic book here.
Chrome will be relased later today. Its main features are:
Like Firefox, Google Chrome uses open source technology, so developers around the world can develop for it.
Chrome is supposed to be more stable, preventing one crashed tab from affecting the rest of the tabs on the bwosers. It also uses a new Java Script protocol and allows different java proccesses to run separately, so one can't harm the other.
Google also offers its take on browser design with Chrome: the tabs have been moved to the top of the interface, and the search bar and address bar have been unified.
ZDnet's Rupert Goodwins calls Google Chrome a "...gaudy, chrome-plated, futuristic ray gun pointed straight at Microsoft's head."
Nicholas Carr calls Chrome "an important moment in the ongoing shift of personal computing from the PC hard drive to the Internet 'cloud.'"
I use Camino mostly, but this Google Chrome does sound interesting.
I'm happy with Safari, Camino and FF. I want to hear about the advantages?
