Do you think that the selection of Joseph Biden as Obama's running mate will make any difference to Obama's chances of occupying the White House come the year 2009?

The Republican Presidential candidate, John McCain has praised the selection of Joseph Biden as Obama's Presidential running mate, as good selection.

No, I don't see the selection of Joe Biden as a running mate will make much of any difference in Obama's fateful outcome in his presidential campaign.I think Obama sealed his fate for better or for worse much earlier in the campaign.Either from the sound of the gun at the start line Obama was a shoe-in, or some of the dirt from his campaign, i.e rev write, his comments about Pennsylvania citizens and other such verbal blunders just disgusted people.

Biden offers the savvy a good choice. The only problem is not who gets the vote, it's who COUNTS the vote - Diabold is run by the Neocons...

I think some "guest" should join Polls Boutique and participate like the rest of us, who enjoy the opportunities presented to read other people's opinions on things that impact our respective lives one way or another. My enjoyment of "polls boutique"  significantly stems from the fact that we show respect to one another,

It's not, for sure.  He should have picked Hillary.  I'd be very concerned right now if he had.

He picked a piece of "white bread" for appearences only. Period. I'm glad it made no difference in his ratings.

From what I read, Biden was selected because he has the things that the public believe that Obama lacks. He has 35 years experience on Capitol Hill, to balance Obama's experience, which has been largely (but not completely) outside government. He is able to get down and dirty, where Obama has the kind of dignity that does not lend itself well to making attacking barbs at an enemy. And if the Far Right hate Obama, then they will hate Biden more. From what I see, this has always been the pattern: Always appoint somebody who your enemy is going to REALLY hate as the vice president. Theodore Roosevelt is a prime example. Eisenhower chose Nixon, who was able to go on the attack while Eisenhower maintained his dignity. Kennedy picked Lyndon Johnson, who was even more zealous about civil rights. Nixon chose Agnew, who was even more crooked. Clinton chose Gore, Bush chose Cheney.
