Well, Sweden is not my country so I have to remain somewhat unaffected by this. Sure the separation of church and state makes perfect sence to me. no problem. Although I had no problem in my school boy years, pledging allegiance to the flag in the name of the judeo-christian god, regardless of what's in my heart, apparently many people do. I don't feel like anyone's ever tried to brain wash me religously in this country. Not by a public institution anyway. Still it's sad in a way. Christian Europe has such a long history of being so true blue Christian and such a larger orthodox population than America. It's kind of sad.

Since I am myself involved in translating the English Bible into the Fijian language, I find that what one reads in the Hebrew or Aramaic Bible are sometimes tempered with through translation when it was better to transliterate them to maintain their original meaning. It is better to coin a new word with its original meaning, then it is to translate it to an existing word that means something else. Either teach the truth or don't teach it at all, because lives can be hurt for good that is what I think.

Who actually said anything regarding "government run schools?"  Looks like you're injecting that into this topic.  However, I'll go ahead and jump in and say this:  It should be just as illegal to privately give someone a bullshit education, as it is to publicly give them a bullshit education.

... by teaching that scientific knowledge is garbage perhaps? -Going back to the ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek scripts (the Letters were written in Ancient Greek) is a complete copout, because very few people speak or can understand those languages. Many of the flaws in the bible can be traced to the source, the original scripts. If tje scriptures WERE the unalterable word of god, then they would have retained their meaning, no matter how they were translated.

The truth is important but this can only be found in the original Hebrew/Aramaic Scripts NEVER in the English,  or Greek translations of the Holy Scriptures, from which the entirely of the Christianity is based. The differences are so enormous, that people could get dumbfounded that they ever believed some of things they believe. The entirety of the scriptures in all its complexity, boil down to a very simple need, namely “relationship&rdquo ; between created beings and how we can all create utopia in this world; the one thing the world could never and will never achieve, if we promote half truths and downright lies in our school systems.
