To what degree does having a pet benefit your health and well-being?

We all love our fine furry, feathered, fishy friends, but did you know that pet ownership can have a truly positive influence on our physical and psychological health?

Well I really think that it depends on the person. Some people not at all. Some people are afraid of them. Some people are allergic and therefore they get sick around pets.Other people are comforted by having a pet. It soothes them, emotionally and such; which probably helps their over all outlook in life and effects their heart beat etc etc etc, and are proably all in all healthier people because of their pet. My mom is like that.
