This is hilarious! I can not believe how biased fox news is in favour of God. This would never be allowed to be aired in Britain due to worry it would offend atheists and agnostics and other religons. In Britain and most of Europe Science is praised for bringing civilisation into the light! I can't believe 90% of Americans believe in God that is crazy. But worse that that, I cant believe how biased in favour of god their news is. I don't know what that lady is on about talking about childbirth. It is amazing nature created childbirth and its not that hard to work out how it happens. Plants reproduce too you know! If they can do it I'm sure we can! lolPlus it annoys me that they call atheists militants as if they are terrorists or something! I can not believe the news in that country supports christianity so openly. it makes me glad not to British where people are allowed to have their own opinion without being called militants!
Well I'm not at all offended by this. Maybe skewed, but who really cares? What do they have to gain? They plugged that book by that atheist Dawkins and I've seen that priest who's always on FOX plug his own book as well. So that's atleast fair. I think the segment was interesting.
Talk about ticking the boxes... Label Atheism as "fashion" Associate it with the "liberal elite" i.e.George Clooney and Angelina Jolie, quick joke about Jessie Jackson being arrested, say that atheism is a burden, that it is illogical, juxtapose red carpet premiers with people praying in church, ask simplistic, rhetorical questions without the slightest intention of answering them (any biologist can explain how an eye evolved, hell even I could explain it), the use of the words "elite" and "intellectualism" as put downs, saying that atheists could only stay within the bounds of science, while religious people are able to bend science any which way without regard to the actual facts. The female anchor simply stating "the miracle of childbirth is the only proof of god I need", showing a complete disregard with any scientific questioning, while simultaneously drilling in that old "family values" thing. -Working in television, I am quite aware of FOX's mode of operation. They only show one side of the story. If somebody they like is mentioned, they will put a flattering picture of them up. If they do not like somebody, they will put an unflattering picture of them up. Everybody they interview has the same viewpoint. If they interview somebody of a different viewpoint, that person is usually not that bright, and they are usually shouted down. There are two reasons that they interview people who are not all that bright are twofold: They do not want to interview those who are capable of expressing their opposing opinions eloquantly because (A) nobody with an opposing opinion would want to be subjected to that kind of harrassment (B) They know that whatever they say will be taken out of context during editing, and (C) they are not welcome.
As an atheist, I find this dialog to be horrifyingly biased. Father Johnathan clearly has some radical biases (as a catholic priest) as well as some gross misinformation to share about a topic like Atheism. However, it isn't uncommon for a news company to employ people of this type. CNN has Ruben Navarrette Jr to provide a grossly biased perspective on Hispanic issues and Roland Martin for heavy African American bias. I regularly read or watch only these two people's contributions, but I know that there are others contributors like these. "Commentary" and "Opinion" segments never offer any counter-balancing, and also don't appear to be fact-checked. Fox News isn't any more or less guilty of bias for having these types of people doing these types of segments.
'Course CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS and my personal favorite, MSNBC don't do anything like that, right? You comments are laughable.
Phil the Phool works in TV alright, he cleans the toilets at Fox Television.
Phil the Phool, I wouldn't admit that if I were you. Thank god I'm not you phucking loooser.
FOX News is clannish and not too far from bordering the KKK. In fact it's not news, it's right-wing propaganda on steroids...
