I have four monitors on my home workstation. I often have a video playing in one of them, 3D software or graphics or web development in another, polls boutique and other "fun" websites on another, and often a game or wikipedia in the fourth (if anything). Actually, I think three is the limit after which extra monitors are more for vanity than productivity. I jumped from two to four, not realizing that three was adequate.
