Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will spend a night in jail

Judge Ronald Giles just sent Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to jail for an unauthorized trip to Windsor on business. Since there's a trial process against him, Mayor Kilpatrick was not supposed to leave the state of Michigan without alerting the court. But he did, and was caught in doing so.

Judge Ronald Giles was furious, and after hearing a long winded apology from Kilpatrick he sentenced his to spend a night in jail. Detroit's mayor is now being processed for transfer to Wayne County Jail.
